WILMER FLORES' HOMER SEALS GIANTS' OPENING DAY COMEBACK WIN
NEWS Desk Global

It was a point of emphasis throughout spring training: situational hitting, situational hitting, situational hitting. The Giants needed to improve their performance with runners on base. It looks like all that hard work has paid off.
On Opening Day, with two outs in the ninth inning, Patrick Bailey tied the game, and Wilmer Flores followed up with a stunning three-run homer, putting the Giants ahead and securing a 6-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. The dramatic win also served as a perfect birthday gift for Buster Posey, who was in the executive’s booth for the first time as president of baseball operations.
