SSR Case Update: NCB confirms Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh likely to be summoned
The Narcotics Control Bureau has confirmed that Rhea Chakraborty had named actresses Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in her statement pertaining to a drug angle that came to light in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
According to the latest reports on Times Now, the central agency is set to send out summons to both actresses and fashion designer Simone Khambatta on Tuesday and is ‘likely’ to call them in for questioning by the end of this week. All three are expected to join the investigation by Thursday, it was reported.
The channel, in their news break also claims that several other top names in the film industry have come up, but the team will have to conduct a lot of investigation before moving ahead.
The report also claims that besides A-listers, the NCB will also interrogate various event management companies and event managers who organised parties with the sole purpose to peddle drugs. Sources from the bureau claim that the agency is trying to unearth a syndicate working within the industry and the individuals involved with them.
This confirmation comes in after Free Press Journal quoted NCB deputy director KPS Malhotra, saying that the agency has not yet prepared any list mentioning names of Bollywood stars. He also stated that the agency prepared a list of peddlers and traffickers, which is getting confused as a list of Bollywood celebrities.
Rhea was taken into custody by the NCB last week. A special court in Mumbai on Friday rejected the actress’ bail plea. According to a statement by her lawyer, Rhea is in no rush to move court for a bail, but will instead, “study the order, it’s implications and developments in the Case at the NCB level and then decide. There’s no room for speculation. Once it is filed, we will share a copy of the Bail Application.”
