ODISHA-BORN IPS OFFICER APPOINTED SP IN MANIPUR'S BORDER DIST

IPS officer Babitarani Swain, a native of Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district, has been appointed as the superintendent of police (SP) of Chandel district in Manipur, which is currently under President's Rule. She assumed charge on Monday following her transfer from Tamenglong district.
Swain, a 2000-batch IPS officer, will oversee crucial law enforcement operations in Chandel, a strategically significant district that shares its border with Myanmar. "Border fencing, anti-smuggling operations, and preventing infiltration are our top priorities," said Swain after taking charge.
