ASI WILL RESTORE 400-YEAR-OLD BARAPULLAH BRIDGE IN 3 MTHS
LG VK Saxena has entrusted Archaeological Survey of India with the responsibility of restoring the historic Barapullah Bridge within three months. "ASI has been tasked with not only restoring the bridge but also installing proper lighting to enhance its aesthetic appeal," LG’s house said in a statement on Sunday.
The handover took place following LG's visit to the site. The 17th-century bridge, which runs almost parallel to elevated Barapullah road, is over 400 years old and has been designated as a monument of national importance. However, it has been overrun by squatters in recent times.
