WHY IS NORMAL OVERRATED?

Writer's picture: Editor DeskEditor Desk

According to Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language, the definition of “Normal” is “conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern”.

Most of us are ingrained into the system of expectations of communication and behavior right from childhood. We are taught what is the “normal” and how we need to conform to the standards of normalcy. Individuals on the Autism spectrum are so unique that they do not conform to a specific type or standard when it comes to communication and social behavior. Each moment is different, each experience unique and each individual on the Autism spectrum extraordinary, rather than predictable and run of the mill like most of us. It is hence that at PRAGNYA, we think Normal is Overrated!
