ANTICIPATION FUELS WALL STREET RALLY
Ahead of Federal Reserve Bank Chairwoman Janet Yellen’s speech discussing a potential interest rate hike, Wall Street was able to scrape out some small gains. There is a great deal of optimism surrounding the potential for an increase in interest rates, something Kansas City Fed President and voting member Esther George believes is necessary. Many investors put the chances of a September rate hike at 24%. The S&P 500 was lifted as a result, with the financial sector showing a 0.44% gain. However, caution is necessary, as the Fed has toyed with rate hikes and have not yet implemented anything.
