ITALY HIT BY 6.2 EARTHQUAKE
A 6.2 earthquake in Central Italy has left 73 people dead. The mayor of Amatrice, the town at the epicenter, says it has decimated his town. Rescuers are on site right now trying to rescue people, but they are having trouble reaching some of the further towns. Search and rescue efforts are happening at this moment, and survivors are told to reach out if they have been affected by the earthquake. One witness, a 65 year old man, said his house collapsed on him as he was wearing nothing but undergarments. He described feeling helpless when people shouted for help, thinking “What can I do?”.
