UTTAR PRADESH, BIHAR FACE FLOODS

Uttar Pradesh’s situation gets more dire by the day. Water flowing in from Nepal, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh has led to a worsening flood crisis in the state. Its neighbor, Bihar, is in a similar situation, despite their less than average rainfall this year. The Central Water Commission is attributing the floods to the overflowing of the Ganga river, which is flowing at 60.31 meters, three meters above danger levels. Overflow is ubiquitous throughout the country right now, with nearly all rivers showing water levels that are deemed unsafe by the CWC.
