The conflict in Syria is five years old, with President Bashar al-Assad’s forces working to defeat the rebels who want an overhaul of government. However, in the midst of all the fighting, many fail to register the collateral damage. A video making the rounds on the Internet depicts a stunned, bloodied Syrian child named Omran. Omran’s home was bombed, and fortunately, his immediate family survived. Omran’s story is just one among countless others. Statistics show that over 300 people have been killed in and around Aleppo. One in three were women and children.
