WARREN BUFFETT DONATES TO CHARITY AGAIN
Warren Buffett once promised to give away a large portion of his wealth to charity. As 2016 rolls on, he continues to fulfill that promise. Buffett recently gave away $2.9 billion of his company’s, Berkshire Hathaway, stocks. This marks the 11th year in a row that Buffett has made a contribution of this size. He plans to give away 19.6 million shares this year, of which $2.2 billion is meant to go to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The other groups that will receive the money are all linked with Buffett’s family. One is the education focused group named after Buffett’s late wife Susan. The others are all headed up by his children. Last year, Buffett contributed $2.8 billion to the same five foundations. He has been giving away his wealth for over a decade now.
