GINSBURG REGRETS TRUMP COMMENTS

Earlier this week, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg made comments to several news outlets criticizing Donald Trump. The 83 year old justice most notably called the GOP presidential nominee a “faker”, enraging Trump along with leading Republican voices. As a result, Trump tweeted that Ginsburg should resign, citing her mental state, along with these recent comments as reasons. Ginsburg apologized on Thursday, saying her remarks were “ill-advised and I regret making them." She went on to say that it is not a judge’s place to “comment[...] on a candidate for public office. In the future I will be more circumspect." Ginsburg’s comments were out of place for a Supreme Court Justice, as the job entails neutrality in all cases. Legal experts suggest that if the current election came down to the decision of the court, as it did in Bush v Gore, these comments would disqualify Ginsburg from participating in that decision.
