IPL 2016: SEASON 9
Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard star for Mumbai Indians as they register an impressive victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai today, in the 24th match of the IPL. After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians invited Kolkata Knight Riders to take first strike, and the Kolkata Knight Riders did pretty well. Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir added 69 for the first wicket, there were small contributions from the middle order and they reached a not-so-imposing but nevertheless a competitive total of 174 for five wickets. Parthiv Patel fell early for the Mumbai Indians, but Rohit Sharma kept them going and Ambati Rayudu chipped in with a quickfire 32 off 20 balls. They lost Pandya and Buttler, the latter to an astounding catch from Chris Lynn, but Kieron Pollard wielded his bat like a sword, clubbing six sixes on his way to an unbeaten 51 off a mere 17 balls, at a scoring rate of 300%. Rohit Sharma was all the time occupying the best seat in the stadium, enjoying his batting on his way to a neat, unbeaten 68 off 49 balls to not only win the match for his team, the Mumbai Indians but also to pocket the Man of the Match award.
