In the ongoing IPL tournament in India, Rohit Sharma helps Mumbai Indians put it across Kolkata Knight Riders in a thumping fashion at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata today. After being asked to bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders ran up a healthy score of 187 for four off their 20 overs, riding on the back of Gautam Gambhir's 64 and Manish Pandey's 52. Gambhir was a little slow but Manish Pandey blasted three sixes on his way to 52 off 29 balls. Andre Russell smashed 36 off 17 balls with four sixes. However, in reply Mumbai Indians found the going easy, had fruitful partnerships all the way with Rohit Sharma being involved in every one of them, and they completed an easy victory, winning by six wickets with five balls to spare. Rohit Sharma was the hero of the day with an unbeaten 84 off 54 balls, while James Buttler came good as well, hitting 41 off just 22 balls, with three sixes. Andre Russell could not get his length right, leaking 52 runs off his four overs, including 17 runs to Rohit Sharma in the 19th over of the innings.
